in this case I was trying some new paper I just bought and came across this
image from a book.

paintings from some years ago

i was looking for some old works some weeks ago and found there were some i had never uploaded (as most of the things I do) but now I felt like showing these. these are school works, studies of values, colours, and who knows what, in tempera or acrylics.

Oil study

Study of lights & shadows +Colours and compostion. I'm trying to see which
colours as a basis are better for the skin. I usually use just the 3
primary (CMY) + white. A little black to make different values of grey and
nothing else. In this case didn't use magenta but crimson, and ulttamarine
instead of cyan.

a quick study from a composition, in sienna, white and grey oil. the hard light on the fresh oil made the pic come different as it is.

the third and last collage for the project for school.

these works (plus Seurat's Bagnade I posted some months ago) are just pieces of papers torn from magazine, glued to the board. later i added some color or details with oil pastels, then acrylic varnish on top. 

the one after casas has also some gouache (témpera) beneath the oil pastel on the upper part of the work

this time, and after a couple of studies in pencil/watercolors (not posted) i did it in oil.

we're going to work on a composition with apples in oil. after the teacher's explanations this morning i could only do this little study in watercolours.

these are the compositions we had to draw today. in the last one i couldn't supposedly use shadows, only lines, so i used a 8B pencil (sort of conté) instead of charcoal but couldn't help adding some (shadows). i also used some cream-coloured pastel pencil to enforce the light. these are all big sketches of about 60x80cm., big for me at least that always drew in small formats...=)
