some sketches i need to make a little sculpture, seen from back-front-left-right using virtual pose.
i'll use the girl's sketches that's why i didn't do the boy's fourth sketch.

i coloured some of them with pastel dust+water

plaster modelling

plaster modelling

it's fun. it's annoying. it's soft. it's rough. it breaks. it stays where i wanted. many emotions and feelings come out while one is doing one of these little men, starting with some hard 4-milimeters-diameter wires, covering them with cloth strips + clay, like a mummy :P, then adding plaster, having to prepare only two spooonfuls cause it hardens and dries too soon. obviously it's still unfinished

a day at the museum

a day at the museum
Originally uploaded by dibujandoarte

a new sketch contest was held today at the natural sciences museum. i didn't take my camera so i don't have an image of the penguin i sketched for the contest. anyway they said in august all our works will be shown at the museum so i'll surely soon be adding it here. i got the 3rd. place this time. it was fun (such a chill..) when i was almost done with the graphite then decided to add some ink washes, then i foolishly spilt some black ink on the paper, but fortunately i managed to cover it up adding more black ink when it hadn't been my plan. here are some of the sketches i did while we waited for the jury to decide.

drawing class

drawing class

one of the drawings i did today.... the paper is about 80x110cm, i'm starting to like drawing in big formats, though for a "real" drawing i would need more time. this one took me about 2 hours and it's not complete, i'd call it just a big sketch, he.

composition in pastels

composition in pastels
Originally uploaded by dibujandoarte

once more the same compostion for painting class. this time i had to open (try at least) the forms and paint with pastels. i have to take it tomorrow to school and see what the teacher says. i don't if it's what she'd want us to do. i'm not used to seeing the kind of art she wants in this exercise (Braque's style)

what do you think?

Previous work with the same composition: here and the link in that post too
